Wardrobes - installation
The most important thing is to position and level the base accurately. If you do this correctly, everything else will come together properly; if you don't, you will struggle to line things up.
Position the base from the back and side walls according to the clearances you set during designing, then carefully level the base using thin (1mm card) packing pieces. If necessary, pack under the back and front of the base every two feet. Once level, firmly screw the base to the floor, checking that it remains flat and level. (Use a straight edge to check for flatness.)
Next you must fit the skirtings to the base; but firstly, just assemble a box and locate it on the base to check it clears the walls correctly. If possible, use a box which also goes up to a side wall so you can offer up and check the upright as well. If all this is satisfactory, remove the box and fix the skirtings to the base from the inside, scribing them to the walls and/or floor if required.
From here is it very straightforward. Locate each base into position and fit the four special screws. Then assemble all the internal shelves and features, firstly fitting the inner uprights followed by the outer uprights and canopy, scribing them if required.
Finally, fit the door hinges, doors and handles, then adjust the doors.
