How to measure for a radiator cabinet

Measuring is easy - in most cases you need to measure just three sizes, click the Guide button and the Jali Designer will work everything else out for you. These measurements are:

  • Width
The width of your radiator at its widest point (usually across the valves on each side)
  • Height
The height from the floor to the top of the radiator
  • Depth
The depth from the wall itself (not from the skirting board) to the most protruding point at the front

You can use inches, centimetres or millimetres: whatever you're most comfortable with.

What next?

The Guide button in the Jali Designer will calculate how big the radiator cover needs to be around your radiator itself. The standard clearances are shown in the picture below, but if you need to alter them then you can do so. Be careful about reducing them too much as you'll need a certain amount of free space for the air to circulate and warm the room up in winter!

Please note: you must use the Guide button to enable us to check that your cabinet will fit around your radiator.

Side fitting options

The height and depth measurements are always the same. However, if you are fitting the radiator cover into a corner, between two walls or across an alcove then the width measurement is different. Full instructions are included in the Designer when you specify the position of the radiator itself.
