Decorative shutters
Measuring and fitting
We make each set of window shutters to the exact width and height that you give us, so you can choose whether to cover the whole window or just, say, the lower half of it (perhaps to mimic the effect of net curtains).
Fixing
The fixing strip (on the outside of each set of leaves) is used to fix the screens to the side of the window. It's pre-drilled with fixing holes and can be fitted flat (inline with the screens) or sideways (at 90 degrees, into the window).
Measuring
Bear in mind that the size you order includes the fixing strips, so:
If you're using the flat fixing option and your walls are uneven, allow for some clearance at the sides. For example, if your window is 36 inches wide (shown in grey here) you might order a 35 inch wide screen (blue).
If you're using the sideways fitting, you'd measure across the entire window (grey).
Whichever fixing option you choose, make sure you also allow a bit of space above and below the screen if you need to.
